New and old faces galore

Bandai Namco has confirmed that SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays will be released in Japan on November 28. While no date was confirmed for the Southeast Asia release, the company released a new trailer, showing off mechanics and characters as well as confirming multiple first copy bonuses.

If you’re looking for just unit and character confirmations, just jump to the 4:55 time stamp. While the early half of the trailer shows off how the game plays and the improvements from G Generation Genesis, it can be hard to understand everything on show if you’re new to the series. It should also be specified that this game is aiming to have over 700 mobile suits, and that’s before we even look at pilot and battleship total. Not everyone is going to receive screentime as a result, so if someone is yet to turn up in these previews, that doesn’t necessarily mean they are not in the game.

In addition, the company confirmed a premium sound edition. This will include 35 songs from the four series. It should be noted that this will likely be exclusive to the Japanese version, as Gundam Versus and Super Robot Wars games also had similar editions.

As for the three first copy bonuses, there’s a similar issue. The first bonus is an extra quest, this nothing too major and all regions will likely have it. The second bonus is the Sisquiede in its Titan colors. This is an SD Gundam original made for Universal Century content, so every region will have this as well. But the third bonus is likely not leaving Japan, as it’s a port of SD Gundam G Generation: Monoeyes Gundams from the WonderSwan Color console. Despite being the origin of the Sisquiede, the release has never been translated into English and that will likely be the case here again.

SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays releases November 28 in Japan on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. A release in the Southeast Asia region is planned at an undisclosed date.
