Wubbing in first position

Following this morning’s official reveal of the long-leaked Guitar Hero Live, Activision’s talking a bit about the core of any music game: the music. Of the 13 announced artists, one sticks out like a sore thumb: Skrillex. The kids love you, Sonny, but this all feels a bit forced. I mean, it’ll be tough to mimic the sound of two 18-wheelers colliding head-on.

Apart from Skrillex, the remaining 12 musicians are the type of mix we’ve come to expect from these games — a lot of popular faces along with some classics. It’s far from a complete list, but The Black Keys, Blitz Kids, Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy, Gary Clark Jr., Green Day, The Killers, The Lumineers, My Chemical Romance, Pierce the Veil, The Rolling Stones, and The War on Drugs are all that Activision is willing to divulge this early.

While this is all traditionally for the living room and television crowd, Guitar Hero Liveis coming to a platform that won’t require a plastic guitar. The game’s site has a mobile section, but details are sparse right now. All it says is “The full game experience will be available on select mobile devices. More info coming soon.”
