Same name, different game

After Electronic Arts broke off a 15-year relationship with Tiger Woods, the golfer is doing what many in his situation would — he’s trying to rebound. The most recognizable name in professional golf is courting videogame publishers to feature him in a new game.

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, broke the news toESPN, but didn’t comment on how negotiations were going. “We had an incredible run. Outside of Madden, you would be hard pressed to find a sports figure that meant as much to a videogame company as Tiger meants to EA. But, times are changing and EA had to re-evaluate the partnership, and frankly, so did we,” Steinberg commented.

EA will continue its pro golf franchise without the iconic Woods. As far as Tiger’s concerned, let’s file this under “Cautiously Optimistic”; after all, we could have the next Ken Griffey, Jr. Presents Major League Baseballon our hands.
