Did GameStop just spoil Blizzard's big surprise?

Overwatch is seemingly coming to console

Overwatch is headings to consoles, it seems.

Despite only officially being announced for PC, GameStop began taking pre-orders for Blizzard’s first-person shooter on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One today, according to various sources.

Kotaku contacted a location in the New York City area and discovered the title is being listed as a $60 game, suggesting it either doesn’t employ a free-to-play business model, as expected, or includes extra content similar to Heroes of the Storm‘s physical PC bundle.

Meanwhile,IGN managed to get one shop to utter the phrase “Overwatch: Origins Edition.”

Blizzard is hosting its annual BlizzCon event this weekend in Anaheim, California, so there’s a good chance we’ll hear more about this at the publisher’s keynote address tomorrow.

Destructoid reached out to Blizzard for comment and received the following response:

“We are excited to share more information about Overwatch with everyone at BlizzCon this weekend – so be sure to tune in to the opening ceremonies for free atwww.BlizzCon.com.”
