‘Not so limited, huh?’

Last week saw the long-awaited re-release of Ubisoft’s dynamic brawler Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, which returned to digital stores a decade after its initial release. Unceremoniously pulled from sale in the December of 2014, it appears that fans are not taking any chances when it comes to Sex-Bob-omb’s highly anticipated encore.

According to a tweet from Limited Run Games’ Douglas Bogart, the retailer successfully shifted over 25,000 physical Nintendo Switch copies within the first three hours of the pre-order window, making Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game the biggest LRG release of all-time. This amazing number does not include PS4 physical pre-orders, nor any digital sales made directly from PSN, Microsoft Store, or the eShop.

It figures that the retro-styled scrapper’s return would see the big bucks. Not only have fans old and new been clamoring for Pilgrim’s comeback for years now, but people were bound to snatch up physical copies in double-quick time, lest licensing issues or red tape cause it to vanish once again. It was an incredibly shrewd move on Limited Run’s part to put out a physical release, and it seems the boutique retailer is set to reap the rewards.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch. Physical editions are available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch via Limited Run Games, as is a re-pressing of the title’s vinyl soundtrack and various items of cute branded merchandise, including keychains and pins.

In less than 3 hours we sold 25,000 copies of Scott Pilgrim on Switch!

Thank you so much for your support in making this our biggest release of all time! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ pic.twitter.com/xtdFrxTeVf
