Set sail for a small northern town

If you’ve ever been hooked on a game’s fishing side quests, there’s an entire game on the way built around just that: fishing. Moonglow Bay has set a release date of Oct. 7, 2021 for Xbox and PC.

Set in the titular town of Moonglow Bay on the Eastern Canadian coastline, Moonglow Bay sees you take charge of a fishing business to fulfill your partner’s final wish. By filling up a journal and casting a line, you can try to catch and document dozens of different aquatic species, all while finding out about the secrets the Bay holds.

This super-chill fishing RPG caught my eye a few months back during an [email protected] showcase, and it’s rad to see it already have a date set for launch. Celeste and Chicory: A Colorful Tale composer Lena Raine will also be lending her tunes to the game as well, so it seems pretty guaranteed to be a relaxing adventure out onto the icy waves.

While there’s always time for action-heavy shooters or expansive epics, sometimes you just want to relax on the boat, cast a line, and see what bites. Hopefully this sweet, voxel-styled slice of northern life can be that relaxing fall game I’m looking for. Moonglow Bay launches for PC and Xbox on Oct. 7, and alongside both Steam and Epic Games Store, it will also be launching on Xbox Game Pass.
